It Will Take You Higher! by Kurek Ashley
Have you ever noticed that there are times in life when you get caught up in just doing things without knowing why you’re actually doing what you’re doing?
1. Having Higher Purpose...
Marie and I were just in the USA doing a 10 city seminar tour and we were driving from one city to the next when Marie said to me that as a couple and as a company have to have a higher purpose for what it is that we do. She said that it has to be about more than just making money or building the business. We have always known that we have been doing it for a higher purpose yet we have never clarified exactly what that higher purpose is. So that’s what we did. We came up with our higher purpose, which is:
“To create global abundance through love and empowerment"
The next day I was on stage giving a seminar for 850 of the 6th, 7th and 8th graders at the Oyler junior high school in Cincinnati, Ohio. I was asked to speak there because the kids there are having a real tough time finishing their education. The neighbourhood is so bad that the dropout rate amongst the kids who make it through the Olyer School and then leave to go to high school is 100%. As I found out only 12 kids in the last 7 years have made it through to finish high school.
2. The Awakening...
In the middle of my talk I had an awakening. I realized that if I didn’t take immediate action that everything that I was attempting to teach these young people was all fluff and I would be nothing more than a motivational speaker. Unless someone takes some action right now none of these kids has any hope of ever making it out of that neighbourhood. That neighbourhood has no chance of ever getting better. I knew that if I didn’t do something right now that I was looking at 850 lost souls. They would have no shot at having a good life. You see, knowing something is not enough. Doing something with what you know is power. These kids didn’t need another “Pump up” speech, what they need is someone to step up to the plate and take some real action. So I decided right there on the spot that I was going to take some dramatic action.
I announced to the kids sitting there that I was going to create a program that would give them the life skills that they need to make it through school and life. AND for any of them that regularly attended the program and make it through high school with the grade point average needed to get into college that we will pay for 4 years of their university education for them to attend any university that they get accepted to. And for any of the teachers who donate their extra time and help us facilitate the program to teach the program that we will also pay off their student loans as well.
Needless to say... to send all of these young people to university and pay off the teacher’s student loans is going to cost millions of dollars. Marie and I are now in the process of creating a foundation so that people and companies can donate money to pay for all of it. Then once we have the foundation and the structure of the program in place we want to globalize the program so that students all over the world will be able to benefit from it.
3. Force Yourself into Grand Dreams...
When people ask me for strategies about how to achieve their grand dream goals, I say the best strategy is to make sure that you have a higher purpose for doing. What it is that you want to do? When you have a higher purpose it forces you to expand the way that you think and participate in life. It gives you access to tap into powers that are greater than what you have for yourself alone. In order to make your higher purpose come into fruition you will have to start tapping into your dormant resources. Your dormant resources are those skills and tools that we all have inside of ourselves and it is going to take something that is grand in stature in order to activate them. Having a higher purpose also gravitates others into your life to help you achieve it. They too want to be a part of something that is higher in purpose.
Since returning to Australia, the program at the Oyler School is in full swing and is already getting amazing results with the young people attending it. I would like to extend a special thank you to Nicholas Kontras who is an Action International Business coach and the other coaches and teachers who are helping us make this program a reality. They are aligned in the higher purpose that we have and have adopted it for themselves as well. The work that they are already doing with the young people at the Olyer School is awesome! They understand that when you want to be happy, help others be happy. When you want to make a lot of money for yourself, help others make a lot of money for themselves. That’s the abundant way of thinking.
4. Leaving a legacy...
You are more than welcome to use our higher purpose as your own and if not make sure that you come up with a higher purpose for yourself. You may not know how to achieve what it is that you want in life and that’s OK. Most of the time we don’t actually know how we are going to get there, so what? And it’s not important that you do. What is important is to know why you want it. What is your purpose for wanting it? When you have a big enough “Why” (Purpose) for what you want, the “How” to get it will show up.
Here’s my plea; Marie and I can’t do this alone. Even with the teachers and coaches on board already we can’t do it by ourselves. I need your help. When you want to contribute to the foundation to help give young people a shot at having a future send me an email to let me know and I will tell you how you can do it. Like I always say, “When you want to have money trees you have to plant money seeds”. Living in an abundant mindset that is driven by a higher purpose is the quickest and easiest way to make your own dreams come true.
