Imagine driving your car and the entire time that you’re driving you’re looking out of the side window, what happens? Answer: eventually you crash. No matter what business you’re in there’s always going to be competition. (If you want to look at it that way!) You’ll never be the only real estate company or the only computer business or the only shop that sells your type of product. In life you get what you focus on and if you are focusing on what your competition is doing you are looking out the side window of your car again.
Think about it, if you put all of the energy that you’re using trying to compete with others and instead you put that energy into being creative about finding ways on how to make you business more successful, then that’s what you will produce.
You’ll notice that what ever it is that you sell in your business you competition either all ready sells something similar or soon will be. Have ever noticed that as soon as your business comes out with a new product your competition copies it and soon has something similar? You do the same with your competition too. So it’s not the features that make your business stand out from your competition. And if your only point of difference is that you have the cheapest price then as soon as someone sells it for cheaper you’re in trouble.
So then what is it that makes people successful when others are just trotting along? What makes one company more successful that it’s competitors?
Have you ever been to a fancy restaurant where the food was great and the service was terrible? After getting bad service did you want to go back there? I didn’t think so. Have you ever been to a restaurant where the food was good and the service was awesome? Did you want to go back there? For a lot of people that becomes their favourite restaurant.
So then it’s not the features that people buy, it’s the benefits. And the benefit that turns customers into loyal customers is called, service. When a customer is serviced they feel served. Service is a feeling. And the way that you create real service is by adding value to your customer’s lives. Remember that a good customer buys from you when it’s convenient or when your price is the cheapest, then as some where else becomes more convenient your good customer is gone like the wind. A loyal customer is a customer that has been so served that they will stay your customer even when it’s inconvenient. They also will spend more money with you when they have more money to spend and they tell their friends about you because they want to pass on the value that you have brought to their lives.
Let go of you being a competitor and start to be a creator. Which one sounds more powerful to you?

3 Keys To Success

1. Energy!
Without a doubt, my most important key to success with both my Real Estate and my personal life is to take great care and caution with my health. In saying this I mean, having the core focus of three words: Exercise, Alcohol & Diet.
And no I don’t mean focus on having alcohol, what I do mean is that I use these three words to trigger me off or remind of the three things that I need to think about continually to maintain great health and achieve great results.
I remind myself daily of what exercise I need to do today and I always consume minimal alcohol and I watch everything that I eat. People have blown the subject of health way out of proportion and it is actually far from difficult to understand. Simple, Exercise daily for 30 mins and make sure you sweat, Drink as little as possible alcohol (Once a fortnight or month preferably), and eat nothing but a diet that consists of 80% fresh fruit and vegetables. Look at your plate and if it is a certain size then realize that if a piece of meat or steak is taking up more than 20% then it is to much! 80% is 80%, don’t try and cheat yourself or lie to yourself that anymore is ok, because it is not worth the heart attack!
2. Time!
You only have so much. If you are not sure where your time is going, then take a little notepad and put it in your top pocket each day. Every single time someone including family asks you to do something for them write down the task and how long it took and put a price that you should be charging per hour next to it. By the way, the minimum price you are allowed to write next to each hour gone is $500.00. Any less is selling your-self to cheap!
After doing this for thirty days you will notice that it adds up to whack load of cash that you have missed out on because you could have been doing something else with that time. Then workout who you did not mind helping for that price because the $500 is the minimum it has cost you, and then work out the people that you did help that you probably did not need to. (it was their urgency to have you help them) and then next time these people get in your way wanting their needs fulfilled costing you your time, kindly tell them to call back next Christmas as you have got a few things to do until then. Oh, and tell them ‘don’t call us, well call you!’
3. Sacrifice!
You have got to a point in life and if you want to create more, then you have to first change. In order for this to happen, your routine or patterns of what you do with you time needs to also change. Along with change comes the follow through of your decisions. If you need different results in your life then you need to change your decisions about what actions you take and where and how you invest your time. The challenge a lot of people have with this generally is that they see changing out of their comfort zone or present and past habits as painful.
If you do not apply any sacrifice of one thing for another then you will never get any different results in your life. Eg, If you watch TV most nights for two or three hours and need to build a real estate portfolio as well, then you need to sacrifice the crap on TV that you are watching and go read some books on real estate investing or attend a seminar etc. If this is put into action and followed through until results are achieved, the illusion that appears to initially be a sacrifice turns out to be a blessing in disguise and you soon realize that the sacrifice was worth it. So much so that you then do not even label it as a sacrifice anymore and it becomes a sacrifice not to reads those books and attend seminars and watching TV becomes nothing more that a waste of your time. Although this did at first seem a little painful to miss out on the TV, in the end you see the great rewards for your initial sacrifices and what you have achieved, perhaps half a million dollars or more and I promise you one thing, if there was any pain at the start of this process, once you achieve your results you seem to have forgotten the pain that initially scared you of changing in the first place. Now you can go enjoy your Ferrari or whatever you did with your cash that ‘does your nuts’!
